Conference “Dictatorship in Venezuela: The case of María Oropeza”

On September 6, 2024, the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER), the Bastiat Society of Argentina, the Thomas Jefferson Institute for the Americas, LOLA Santa Fe and Escuela Libertaria (PL), will host the conference “Dictatorship in Venezuela: The case of María Oropeza” with a presentation delivered by Eneas Biglione & Dr. Laura Paggi, MD.

Eneas Biglione is founder and President of the Thomas Jefferson Institute for the Americas, USA. Director of the Bastiat Society of Argentina, a program of the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER). He has a postgraduate degree in Latin American Law & Economics certified by Corporate Training and the George Mason University. He earned an Associate Degree in International Studies (Graduated with Honors: Cum Laude) and an Associate Degree in Science (Graduated with Honors: Cum Laude) from Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Virginia. He graduated as a Certified Public Accountant from the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Argentine Catholic University (UCA) of Rosario, Argentina. Executive Director of the Hispanic American Center for Economic Research (HACER) in Washington DC for 13 years, Latin American Senior Fellow of the Atlas Network for 6 years and alumnus of the 2008 Ibero-American Visitors Program of the FAES Foundation in Madrid, Spain. He has written over a hundred opinion pieces and has co-authored five books. He has delivered in-person lectures and training in the United States, Spain, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Dr. Laura Paggi, MD. Clinical and Surgical Gynecologist. She works for the Sanatorio Centro in Rosario. Medical graduate from the National University of Rosario (UNR) 1992. Surgical Gynecology Residency at Dr. Clemente Álvarez Public Hospital, 1996.
